FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Aerstone Verified as Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business

ROCKVILLE, Maryland — September 30, 2016 — Aerstone today announced the company is now verified as a service-disabled veteran-owned business. A business hoping to be considered “Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned” must be at least 51% owned and managed by an honorably-discharged veteran who has been rated by the Veteran’s Administration as having been injured in service. The SDVOSB branding, which serves to establish a strong Veteran’s movement in government procurement, is an important step in the continued growth of Aerstone.

Aerstone’s Veteran Managing Owner

Frank Schugar, Aerstone’s managing partner, entered service at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO as a Private First Class in April of 1990, and trained as a signals intelligence analyst (98C). He was sent to language school to study Hungarian in 1991, and after promotion to Specialist and Sergeant, was selected in the summer of 1993 for Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning, GA. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant (2LT) in January of 1994, and was ultimately promoted to the rank of Captain four years later. Mr. Schugar left service in September of 1999 to pursue interests in the private sector.
