Aerstone is more than just a place to work, it’s a way of life. We work hard, we play hard, and we succeed as a team. Our clients depend on our technical skills, communication abilities, trustworthiness, and drive to succeed; and the company depends on everyone to work to together. In our off hours, we like to have fun! Aerstone has a fun cast of characters, many of whom have fascinating hobbies or participate in charitable efforts across a variety of areas. There’s something here for everyone!

Several locations

Aerstone operates in Rockville, Maryland; Springfield, Virginia; and Lafayette, Colorado — right outside of Boulder. Each location provides excellent access to key clients and is served by major international airports that facilitate frequent travel to remote client locations.

Our brand new Rockville location is the company headquarters, and the central meeting place for our DC-area team. Located right in the shopping and restaurant heart of the Rockville Pike, the office is equipped with plenty of space for full team meetings and houses our game lounge, perfect for creative brainstorming.

Our Springfield office anchors the Virginia contingent, and provides a convenient location for employees to avoid beltway traffic, as well as a quiet environment to focus on projects and client work. Our Lafayette office, at the foot of the Rockies, is a beautiful and serene location for our team out west to collaborate on software development and security assessment.

Flexible Leave

The corporate culture across all locations is intense but fun, with a lot of joking, hard work, and collaboration. Employees often enjoy impromptu outings and happy hours, which helps lighten the work week. The hours are sometimes long but the vacations are too. Aerstone has a flexible leave policy, which means that everyone is on their honor to put in an honest day’s work for an honest day’s pay. We’re a company of subject matter experts, and the last thing we want to do is micromanage our team of highly competent and experienced professionals. You take the time you need, when you need it. Obviously we can’t let customer commitments drop by the wayside, so communication and coordination with teammates and supervisors is essential. But it’s not just about billable time or even non-billable work done for the company…we believe that vacations are an essential part of mental health, and we’ll never get in the way of you taking the time you need to support your personal goals or responsibilities.

For some positions we support flextime and telecommuting, although that depends on the customer and the project. We’ve also found that the office environment dramatically improves our efficiency as a team and individually, particularly with new employees who aren’t yet familiar and comfortable with everyone. So at the least, even our distributed teams try to get together at least once a week in person.

Strong Focus on Creativity

Aerstone is also a great place for you to work on that Great New Idea, and we encourage everyone to spend some time innovating. We’ve assembled a really interesting team of cross-functional engineers, with broad interests across a range of technologies and and subject matter areas of study. We are excited about some of our projects, whether it’s products we’ve developed, or side-projects we’re working on.
